Transportation infrastructure—roads, railways, inland water ways—and the vehicles that move within them—cars, trains, ships—often operate as separate systems. Yet, they are deeply interconnected. Seamlessly integrating these networks and modes of transport fosters a more inclusive, efficient, sustainable, and safer mobility ecosystem. MOVEO is designing a scalable Intelligent Framework to bridge these gaps and shape the future of transportation.

Infrastructure assessment 
and redesign

Pillar 1

This pillar aims to achieve seamless multi-modal transport services that can accommodate modern transport modes. Activities include coordinating public transport planning, modelling transport and spatial systems, conducting traffic flow simulations for different modes, and managing traffic control.

Inspection and monitoring

Pillar 2

This pillar deals with the inspection and monitoring of transport infrastructure and traffic flows. The purpose is to manage modal capacity and demand by using advanced inspection systems that integrate artificial intelligence, Internet-of-Things, and edge computing.

Digitalised mobility

Pillar 3

This pillar focuses on digitalised mobility operation and asset management. The goal is to develop a Digital Twin (DT) platform that integrates diverse data sources into a scalable, microservices-based system.

Smart logistics

Pillar 4

This pillar aims to develop smart solutions for the door-to-door mobility of passengers and goods.

Inclusiveness and accessibility

Pillar 5

This pillar focuses on enhancing the inclusiveness and accessibility of transport infrastructure and mobility services. It focuses on the creation of inclusive and accessible mobility services through ethnographic research, data analysis, and co-creation.

Five demos

The MOVEO framework and its solutions will be validated through 5 demonstrators located in Switzerland (two demosites), Italy, France, and Lithuania. These demonstrators cover different infrastructure types, climate conditions, and life cycle stages. Building better solutions together

MOVEO unites expertise from nine European countries, bringing together the entire value chain in transport and digitalization, including specialists in inspection, monitoring, logistics, mobility, and inclusiveness, as well as end-users and transport infrastructure managers.
