First General Assembly in Athens

On 25–26 November, MOVEO held its first General Assembly at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) in Athens. As the project enters its initial phase, partners are actively collecting a wide range of data. The data includes information on multimodal passenger flows and current patterns at the Port of Klaipėda, as well as vessel movements on the River Seine and freight and passenger transport. Upcoming datasets such as pain points identified in the City of Winterthur and at the Port of Klaipėda will soon be gathered through voice recordings and photographs using the Urban Belonging App.

These inputs will later support the optimisation of lock traffic management to reduce fuel consumption, the creation of digital twins for representative traffic situations, and the development of models to better predict hydrodynamic parameters in Klaipėda Port, supporting safer vessel navigation.

Each MOVEO task was presented and discussed by the responsible partner during the meeting, resulting in a productive exchange and a clear view of the progress achieved so far.

MOVEO partners presented their work

25. November 2025 - First day

The meeting opened with a warm welcome and introduction by Nikos Temenos (ICCS). He outlined the status of the MOVEO Framework Requirements and the ongoing co-creation process together with the task leaders.

Representatives from the Port of Ravenna provided an overview of the demonstration and evaluation approach that will guide MOVEO’s real-world testing activities. Partner University of Vigo presented the first developments in monitoring systems for transport infrastructure, including near real-time pedestrian and vehicle detection. ICCS also introduced the early work on AI-based IoT Edge Computing systems that will support MOVEO’s data architecture.

The Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology shared their progress in developing smart solutions to support seamless door-to-door mobility for passengers and goods. Flock Labs reported on their activities in data collection and stakeholder engagement across the demonstration sites. Focusing on user needs, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) presented the team’s initial work on identifying mobility challenges through the Urban Belonging App, which gathers voice recordings and photographs to capture users’ experiences and support inclusive, comfortable, and accessible mobility services.

On the technological backbone of MOVEO, Cemosa introduced the early development of the project’s Digital Twin platform, designed to enable fully integrated, inclusive and seamless transport operations. The meeting also included an update on MOVEO’s communication and dissemination activities. ESCI presented the first steps toward strengthening the project’s visibility through the website, stakeholder outreach, and communication tools.

Finally, Jesús Rodríguez, Chair of the External Advisory Board (EAB), reported on MOVEO’s first EAB workshop, outlining participation, key outcomes, and preparations for the next workshop.

26. November 2025 - Second Day

The second day was dedicated to MOVEO’s demonstrator sites. In a workshop, demo workflow, technologies to be deployed, expected outcomes & next steps were discussed for each demo site, supported by project coordinator Cemosa.

Thank you to our host, ICCS in Athens!

MOVEO expresses its sincere thanks to its hosts in Greece’s capital Nikos Temenos, Mqamis Zafeiropulos and Katerina-Argyri Paroni for their excellent organisation and hospitality. In-person meetings are essential to the project’s progress, enabling deeper collaboration and accelerating joint innovation. We are grateful to all partners for their dedication, expertise, and commitment to advancing MOVEO.
